Ancient Carpenter's Shop

What to see in Massa Marittima, Grosseto, Tuscany

The workshop museum is set up in 1990 when the village of Massa Marittima bought tools and machinery of the original carpentry of family Forgeschi of Gerfalco, in the village of Montieri, with the intention to faithfully recreate the environment type of historic joinery Maremma. Since the end of the nineteenth century, in fact, the Forgeschi family has continued to bring forward the bottega for five successive generations, up precisely to 1990, the year in which the last descendant decides to close the joinery and transfer it, thanks to the purchase by the Municipality in the center of Massa Marittima to make it a museum accessible to visitors.

Opening times: June-September: 10-19.
Free admission.
