Frantoio Stanghellini, in the Valpiana locality of Massa Marittima, is one of the most deeply rooted companies in the town. Entirely family-run for five generations, the craft and passion are passed down from father to son, currently in charge Franco (the fourth) and Desirée (the fifth generation and first woman).
The farm produces extra virgin olive oil with its own 5,000 olive trees, about 900 of which are 1,000 years old, and with the "Il Frantoio" milling plant.
The fruity oil, typical of Frantoio Stanghellini, comes from the combination of four varieties of olive trees typical of the Maremma region, a genuine, quality product that has earned the company entry in the prestigious Slow Food Guide (a guide to extra virgin olive oils) as one of the best extra virgin olive oils produced in Italy.
At Frantoio Stanghellini, every customer has the opportunity to take part in a free tasting of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a Bruschetta, visit the company and discover not only its history but also the process of oil production through the latest and first-generation crushing plant, without electricity, through historical family photos. In addition, by reservation, it is possible to visit the Ancient Olive Grove with its mammoth Millennial Olive Trees.
In recent years, the company has wanted to increase its products, while still maintaining its identity, with products derived from the craft:
- The Olivastraia Millenium: evo oil obtained from the selection of the finest thousand-year-old plants
- Chili pepper oil and lemon oil: two special and different proposals compared to those that are produced by other companies, obtained by direct pressing of fresh fruits. Olives and chili peppers, olives and lemons.
- Moisturizing cream and natural soap: made solely and entirely with the olive oil from the Frantoio, without dyes or preservatives.
- Olive wood cutting boards made from the dried plants.
