Trattoria Verdiana

It's hard to make a choice in this land of flavours and aromas that boasts fourteen restaurants for all tastes and budgets. In the old town centre, Il Moro deserves a culinary stop thanks to its simple dishes and good glasses of wine, which you can enjoy on the terrace in front of the Maremma hills. Then the Passaparola restaurant, which uses some spaces of the Antico Frantoio at the entrance of which there are three intact granite wheels. And finally, the Trattoria Verdiana waits for you. It is a place of simple elegance, where, in winter, you can eat in front of the fireplace and in summer on the terrace, among olive trees and pine trees. Here the protagonist is the kitchen, in a perfect pair work between husband and wife: Sergio Ciampani creates and advises, Annarita works in the kitchen; Sergio goes hunting, picking plants, mushrooms, wild herbs and cultivates his incredible vegetable garden of one hectare, with more than eighty species of tomatoes and every other good things, while Annarita transforms all this into rich and refined dishes: pappardelle with wild boar and tortelli stuffed with wood pigeon, padellata maremmana and duck with caramelized pears, chocolate cake with orange jam, ginger ice cream and sorbets made with fruit from the garden. The winery offers local quality wines and rare bottles for experts.
