Within the Amiata territory, the Mineralogical Museum of Semproniano is the only museum entirely dedicated to mineralogy. Inaugurated on 4 August 2007, the museum was created by a group of private individuals who promoted the creation of a space dedicated to raw materials: minerals. The collection consists of a large number of pieces, characterised by their quality and rarity. Most of the minerals on display and those that make up the ‘systematics’ installed in the drawers are of national and local origin. The Mineralogical Museum of Semproniano consists of three exhibition halls. The minerals are classified by geographical area of origin with information panels.
