On April 27, 1969, the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist opened its doors. The long rectangle, of modest height, finds its contained momentum in that singular element that è the tiburium, topped by the belfry. Two flights of steps give it access to the interior, which has a basilica form, and is distributed in three naves. The dividing line of the naves è consists of two columns and two reinforced concrete pillars on each side. Twenty-four are cross-shaped windows: twelve large ones in the tiburium and twelve small ones on the perimeter walls. The floor è made of marble slabs. Following historical research it è been able to ascertain with certainty that St. John the Baptist was dedicated to the first Pieve of Semproniano.
