Some traces remain of the primitive building in the fragments of fresco painting found during the latest restoration work: these are depictions of St. Michael the Archangel, Death, and fragmentary scenes from the stories of St. Bernard of Mentone, made in the early decades of the 16th century and assigned to the so-called Master of Savoulx.
