Parish church of San Bartolomeo

The parish church of San Bartolomeo martire is located in the heart of the village of Chateau Beaulard – at about 1500 meters above sea level – whose inhabited area has preserved its original architectural features intact. It was originally a simple chapel, which was enlarged in 1493 when the community obtained the establishment of an independent parish, detaching itself from Beaulard. The building has undergone various changes over time, almost all concentrated in the first half of the eighteenth century, which involved both the structure and the decorative apparatus

At the level of furnishings, the retable of the main altar where the canvas depicting the Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew dates from 1736, the work of the workshop of the painters Dufour of Saint Michel de Maurienne dated at the end of the seventeenth century, while it is dated to the 1742 the reworking of that of the Rosary, both by Chaffrey Faure.

The massive bell tower in Romanesque-dolphin style is visible from afar.
