Beaulard

Beaulard is a fraction of the municipality of Oulx located in the valley floor along the Dora di Bardonecchia at 1,175 m a.s.l. It has been part of the municipality since 1928, when it was suppressed as an autonomous municipality. It has a railway station along the Turin-Bardonecchia railway line. The Romanesque church of San Michele Arcangelo (1210 meters), one of the oldest in the Upper Valley, dating back to the 11th century, is extremely valuable. Starting point of various hiking trails in the direction of other villages such as Chateau Beaulard, the Puy, the Guido Rey refuge.

Beaulard was the birthplace of Joseph Chalier, a leading figure in the French Revolution who ended up on the gallows in 1793.
