The park of the Lakes of Avigliana is situated at the mouth of the Susa Valley, at the foot of Mount Pirchiriano on which rises the ancient abbey of the Sacra di San Michele, in a characteristic area of the morainic amphitheater of Rivoli-Avigliana, just 20 kilometers from Turin.
The park is not only proposes to protect a corner of nature but also wants to realize a symbiosis with the town of Avigliana founded on the respect of the natural balance. With the passing of time were arranged numerous services (trails, informational structures, ecomuseum of fishing, various publications, map for orienteering) who intend to meet the needs of the beneficiaries.
In particular it has established a continuous didactic relationship with schools (guided visits, conferences, projections) focused on the knowledge and enhancement of the environment and are made of infrastructure directed to the handicapped (lanes for accessibility, lecterns in Braille, audio cassettes for the blind, tables and reserved parking spaces).
