Monteombraro

Monteombraro

With its swimming pool, the village that clings to the top of the hill where an imposing castle once stood and its lively old town centre, Monteombraro is the most important village of the town of Zocca. It owes its fame to the pool and disco, which, in summer, welcome tens of thousands of tourists. However, few know that Montombraro is also a place of culture and reflection.

A pleasant surprise that begins with the beautiful 17th century church and continues with the community of Cistercian nuns, who open their convent to whoever wishes to spend a few days praying and meditating. To visit the “casa-torre Erbolani”, built in XIV century, with original frescoes, and the San Carlo Institute, with its courtyard and oratory, founded in the 1714 to educate the young people. The Ronchi Istitute is situated into a 17th century aristocratic house and conserves paints and fine furniture.
