Located in the center of the village of Baselga, the ancient Church of Santa Maria Assunta first appears in documents in the 13th century, but is believed to be much older.
Restored numerous times, it now has elements of different styles: from Romanesque to Gothic, Renaissance to Baroque.
The high altar, in Baroque style, is carved and gilded wood; the altarpiece is by Pozzi, an artist who worked on the Piné Plateau in the mid-17th century.
