The nineteenth century Fort Bramafam was erected on site in the past occupied by delfinale castle, known since the second half of the fourteenth century and demolished in 1574. First were built batteries in barbetta, then a real strong, that hosted a garrison of about two hundred men and was equipped with technological apparatus considered for pioneering era: it was in fact the first strong to be equipped with installations in Pozzo, with a metal casamatta which was raised only at the time of shooting, to then be obscured.
Occupied by the German troops after 8 September 1943, the fort was partially demolished following the treaty of peace with the France of 1947. In the period after the second world war the structure fell into complete decadence, undergoing devastation and the removal of the finest materials.
Entrusted in 1995 to the Association for the Study of History and Military Architecture, the complex has been completely restored and used as museale exposure thanks to over 50,000 hours of voluntary work. The Bramafam Fort houses an exhibition on the history of the Royal Army from 1885 to 1945, narrated in 38 rises from 160 mannequins, 39 pieces of artillery and over 2000 documents exposed.
