Tepilora Regional Nature Park is preparing to host the new edition of Foreste Aperte 2025 (Open Forests), an event celebrating nature, culture and the outdoors. Four days, four villages, one common thread: the slow and conscious discovery of an extraordinary territory where forests, rivers and traditions intertwine in an authentic experience.
This year’s calendar will kick off on Sunday, October 26, in Bitti, then continue on November 2 in Posada, November 8 in Torpè and November 15 in Lodè.
Hikes and experiences among forests and waterways
Autumn, with its warm colors and crisp air, will be the backdrop for the many activities planned in the woods of the Park, along the Rio Posada. The days will be dedicated to adventure and discovery: hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, quad biking, and kayaking will allow you to immerse yourself in the most authentic nature of the upper Barbagia della Baronia, up to Punta Sa Donna, the highest peak in the park.
In addition to outdoor activities, the program offers craft and agri-food workshops, educational experiences for children, show cooking with local products, and musical moments that highlight the culture and traditions of the area.

First stage: Bitti and the woods of Crastazza
The event will kick off in Bitti, where the opening day will take place on October 26 in the Crastazza woods, on the plateau near Mamone. The Forestas area will be the heart of the event, with nature trails and activities for all ages.
Guided excursions will take visitors to the S’Illiorai Waterfall or to Punta Sa Donna, the highest peak in the park. For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, it will be possible to take part in a free walk to the S’Abba ‘e S’Alinu Waterfalls, served by a shuttle bus.
There will also be workshops dedicated to horseshoeing, saddle baptism for the younger ones, and an interesting event with the ASL 3 Mycological Inspectorate: “Mushrooms… good and bad”, followed by a mushroom hunt in the woods and a themed cooking show.
The afternoon will be enlivened by a tenor singing workshop with live performances and a demonstration of cheese making according to local tradition. A play area will be reserved for children, while adults will be able to enjoy leisure activities, entertainment, and tastings of typical dishes.

A project to experience the park and communities
Funded by the Region of Sardinia and the Foundation of Sardinia, Foreste Aperte is organized in collaboration with the Union of Montalbo Municipalities, the Forestas Agency, local associations, Environmental and Sustainability Education Centers and numerous private operators.
Park President Martino Sanna stresses that the event is “an opportunity to promote environmental education and participation of local communities, enhancing biodiversity, crafts and agribusiness.” After eleven years since its establishment, the Tepilora Park is confirmed as a laboratory of sustainability and territorial development, where each initiative becomes a moment of aggregation and shared growth.

Foreste Aperte nel Parco di Tepilora 2025 is not just an event, but an invitation to slow down and regain authentic contact with nature and people. Between hikes, traditions, sports and gastronomy, the autumn of these territories turns into a widespread celebration, where each village tells its own soul and each step in the woods and along the waterways becomes a discovery.
