The Church of Sant’Antonio Abate in Sasso, a hamlet of Gargnano, is a building of ancient origins which today features a simple single-nave structure. Its construction probably dates back to the 17th century, having been built on the ruins of a previous 12th-century chapel. Initially a chapel attached to the church of San Martino in Gargnano, it was elevated to parish status in 1646.

The interior, intimate yet rich in devotional elements, houses three altars: the high altar, dominated by the statue of Saint Anthony the Abbot, patron saint of the community; the altar dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary; and the altar of the Last Supper, adorned with an 18th-century painting by the Benacense artist Stefano Celesti.

The church is set within a landscape of great beauty: from the churchyard, in fact, there is a splendid view of Lake Garda, making this place not only significant from a religious point of view, but also particularly charming in terms of its panoramic views.
