Peschiera

The Peschiera di Santa Fiora is an unusual body of water that was probably originally a trout nursery for the Aldobrandeschi, formed by the clear, frozen springs that flow between the green chestnut trees and later became part of the Renaissance park-garden wanted by the Sforza: an enchanted place that recalls an Ariosto garden and has no equal in all of southern Tuscany. The last restructuring, carried out in 1851 by Lorenzo Sforza Cesarini, gave it the characteristics that are still recognizable.
