Mezza Praia’s Tower

The Mezza Praia’s Tower, in the Torrazzo locality of Curinga, is an imposing watchtower structure with a circular base and a truncated conical plinth. The two upper floors, cylindrical in shape, feature numerous windows that provide a panoramic view of the surrounding sea. Built in the 16th century, the tower was part of a coastal defense system devised by Don Pedro of Toledo, viceroy of Naples, to protect the coast from Saracen attacks.
