The Baroque Well of Arquata Scrivia, traces of which date back to 1598, represents a work of art steeped in history and significance. Its construction in its present form is closely linked to the historical events of the Spinola nobles, who ruled the territory for a long period. It is said that the construction of this well was a gesture aimed not only at beautifying the family residence, but also at winning popular favor by facilitating access to an essential commodity of the time: water. The work, in addition to providing an easier supply, was designed with a striking decorative imprint, adding a touch of beauty to the square that today bears the name of Santo Bertelli. The Baroque Well of Arquata Scrivia thus became a symbol of providence and aesthetics that still fascinates visitors today, allowing them to immerse themselves in the history and ingenuity of the period.
