Snail Festival in Verezzi
Event description
On 13 and 14 August 2026, the charming village of Verezzi, a hamlet of Borgio Verezzi, will celebrate the 60th Snail Festival, one of Liguria’s longest-running and most beloved gastronomic events. Organised by the Società Mutuo Soccorso Concordia, the event continues a tradition that began in 1966, showcasing one of the signature dishes of the local cuisine in an atmosphere of celebration, music and conviviality.
The undisputed stars of the festival are the famous Verezzi-style stewed snails, prepared according to an ancient recipe handed down through generations and preserved for over half a century. Alongside this speciality, the food stalls offer numerous traditional Ligurian dishes, taking visitors on a journey through the region’s authentic flavours.
The food stalls, set up in Piazza Gramsci, open on both evenings from 6.30 pm, whilst live music accompanies the dinners and brings the village to life until late in the evening.

- The food stalls open at 6.30 pm.
