The repopulation project of some small italian villages with the sale of houses for € 1 (provided that these are renovated and the works must be completed in 3 years) in Sambuca di Sicilia, has had some success. Our editorial staff also received several requests for information from foreign visitors and this initiative even intrigued a famous Hollywood actress.
It is Lorraine Bracco, star of the series “The Sopranos” and of the famous “Goodfellas”, born in New York from a Sicilian father, she became fascinated by our magical trinacria, taking advantage of the so advantageous offer and transforming this experience into a show which will be broadcast on October 30 on the American channel HGTV.
“This is a huge undertaking,” Bracco said in a press release from HGTV. “I’m not an entrepreneur. I’m not a decorator. I’m an actress. I’ve never done this before. I have no idea what I’m really getting into! It’s a lot of work, but anything is possible. I believe. And then, for one euro, we’ll see!”
Absolutely a change of life that the actress continues by commenting:
“I think life is an adventure. When I saw the article that you could buy a house in Sambuca for one euro, I jumped. So I took a plane. I bought the house. I’m very excited to be here. meet and work with the locals and live among them. I’m here to pay tribute to my family who comes from Sicilia. “
An adventure that underlines the growing interest in our villages and that we can follow once the show also hits screens in Italy.
