Passo Nota was already in Roman times a remarkable communication route between Garda and Valle di Ledro and was crossed by a road. It was a military strategic point where numerous armies passed through. In World War I it became the pivot of defense on the Upper Garda Front.
Today it is possible to follow several kilometers of positions, with cave posts, concrete casemates and cannon emplacements, well connected by spectacular military roads carved into the rock and a network of paths still viable today. All routes have as their starting point the two Rifugi degli Alpini di Tremosine sul Garda, easily accessible by car, on foot, mountain bike or e-bike.
