on the occasion of the feast of the holy, on 23 April, the shrine is the point of arrival of the Cavalcade of San Giorgio, evocative ceremony involving the inhabitants of Montorgiali and those of neighboring countries. This ancient custom intends to repropose the Fight of San Giorgio with the dragon.
The oratory, architectural forms rather rustic and modernised in the course of the centuries, is preceded by a portico; the interior has a single room with a trussed ceiling. On the high altar, built in plaster and stucco according eighteenth-century forms, is exposed to the statue of San Giorgio with the dragon, characteristic nineteenth-century artifact in painted papier mache that constitutes an expressive and rare document of popular folk art.
