The Marsican Bear Museum in Palena is a place to learn and learn more about this wonderful endangered specimen. It is a structure composed of 5 sections, each of which contributes to our knowledge and insight into the habits and way of life of the Marsican bear.
- The first section is the wildlife section, which contains all the necessary information about the history, biology, habitat and feeding habits of this animal;
- The second section is dedicated to scientific research on the Marsican bear and the Maiella National Park;
- The third section is a permanent exhibit that includes a series of videos, photographs and documents illustrating the mountain ecosystem and its creatures;
- The fourth section is interactive and offers educational activities for children and adults;
- The fifth section is the educational section, where one can find educational materials, such as drawings and books, that emphasize the beauty of nature and the importance of conservation.

Open days and visiting shifts
March, April, May: all weekends and holidays, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
June, July, August, September: daily, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
N.B. The choice of shift should be evaluated by favoring the cooler hours according to the visiting period.
October, November, February: all weekends and holidays, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
December and January: guided tours are suspended to comply with the hibernation period.
RESERVATION MANDATORY by 6 p.m. on the previous day.
