The medieval complex of San Francesco stands at the foot of the ancient village of Montesarchio. Built in 1339, its current appearance dates back to the 18th century. The church, in Vanvitellian style, has a façade with three entrances, the central one featuring a beautiful wooden door inlaid with scenes from the life of St. Francis, while the interior has three naves with fine altars and Baroque paintings. Of particular interest are the pipe organ and the wooden pulpit. The convent is currently the town hall.
