The Church of Sant’Andrea in Montesano sulla Marcellana is one of the oldest places of worship in the area, although its original structure has largely been lost over the centuries. The main remnant of the original building is the striking stone bell tower, characterised by its clean-cut lines and sharp angles, which stands as a valuable testament to the past.
Dedicated to the apostle Saint Andrew, the church houses a wooden statue dating back to the 18th century, a sign of the devotion that the local community has always held for the saint over the centuries.
Today, the building presents itself as a cosy and quiet place, capable of conveying a strong sense of spirituality. Here, one can still sense the atmosphere of the ancient traditions and popular piety that have accompanied the history of the village.
