Monacelle Palace and the church of Our Lady of Sorrows of the village of Casamassima, in Puglia, represent a unitary body. The same church, built in 1800 by don Domenico Console, had in the adjacent Palazzo Monacelle the seat of a musical conservatory feminine reserved for orphaned girls. After years in which the complex has remained in a state of abandonment, has now been fully refurbished. The Church today houses a municipal auditorium of about 100 places dominated by an imposing candelabra completely reconditioned.
