The intense taste of its oil and fava beans and the fascinating folkloristic traditions make Carpino a small jewel nestled in the Gargano. Mostly hilly, it extends between the Umbra Forest to the south and Lake Varano to the north. Still today you can see the ruins of the ancient Norman-Swabian Castle, while the two most important churches show Baroque motifs: San Cirillo, in Piazza del Popolo, the main square of the town and the seventeenth-century Mother Church.
