Proceeding inland instead, a visit to Silanus cannot be overlooked: it holds the title of authentic village of Italy because of its harmonious landscape. It has also been the focus of worldwide attention because of the high longevity index among its people. Still in the Nuoro area, it is worth discovering Oliena: this small village is also enveloped in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, the ideal condition to appreciate a timeless tranquility and perhaps to taste some excellent carasau bread, which here is prepared according to the most ancient tradition and preserved in special wooden chests.
