Orecchiette nelle ‘Nchiosce

📅 4 August 2026 – 5 August 2026

Event description

On 4 and 5 August 2026, ‘Orecchiette nelle ‘Nchiosce’, one of the most iconic food and wine events of the Apulian summer, returns to Grottaglie, the famous ceramics town in the province of Taranto. For two days, the charming historic centre is transformed into a grand culinary journey where orecchiette – a symbol of the region’s gastronomic tradition – take centre stage.

Amidst the distinctive ‘nchiosce’ – the characteristic alleyways and open spaces of the old town – visitors can enjoy an itinerary that combines cuisine, culture, music and craftsmanship. Local chefs and prestigious guests from the world of Italian gastronomy will present original interpretations of orecchiette, pairing traditional recipes with new culinary ideas that showcase one of Puglia’s most iconic dishes.

Alongside the tastings, the festival offers a packed programme of activities dedicated to local food culture. Visitors will be able to take part in workshops where they can learn to make orecchiette by hand according to the ancient Apulian tradition, watch live demonstrations and discover the secrets passed down from generation to generation. The event also features gluten-free options, so that everyone can enjoy the experience.

Along the route, there will be no shortage of wineries, craft breweries, local producers, live music, street performers and travelling shows, all of which will bring the village to life, creating an engaging and festive atmosphere. As you stroll through the narrow streets, you’ll also discover the famous Ceramics Quarter, a centre of artisanal excellence that has made Grottaglie famous throughout the world.

‘Orecchiette nelle ‘Nchiosce’ is much more than just a food festival: it is a journey into the identity of Puglia, where authentic flavours, folk traditions, art and hospitality come together in a unique experience that showcases the region’s cultural and culinary heritage.
