Sagra delle Strengozze 2026

From 20 to 23 August 2026, Cantalice, in the province of Rieti, will celebrate the 20th edition of the Sagra delle Strengozze, one of the most eagerly awaited culinary events of the Sabina summer, dedicated to one of the signature dishes of the local tradition.

For four evenings, Piazza della Madonna della Pace becomes the heart of the festival, welcoming residents and visitors alike in an atmosphere of conviviality, music and authentic flavours that attracts hundreds of people every year.

The undisputed stars of the event are the strengozze, the typical fresh pasta of the Lazio tradition, recognised as a Traditional Agri-Food Product (PAT) of Lazio. Prepared according to the region’s ancient recipes, it represents one of the most authentic flavours of Sabina cuisine and is the gastronomic symbol of the festival.

Alongside the specialities prepared at the food stalls, the festival offers evenings of music, dancing and entertainment, providing the perfect opportunity to spend pleasant moments in good company amongst the village streets.
