Friulano DOC
An elegant white wine that reflects its terroir and has a strong sense of identity
Description
Friulano DOC Friuli 2024 is a white wine that represents one of the most authentic expressions of the Friulian winemaking tradition. Made from 100% Friulano from the vineyards of Friuli Grave, it is produced from a historic mass selection dating back to 1920, preserved and promoted by the Borgo delle Oche.
Elegant, terroir-driven and with a strong sense of identity, this wine expresses the full personality of the grape variety through intense aromas, a pleasant savouriness and a marked mineral finish. Ageing on the fine lees enriches its structure and complexity, whilst keeping intact the freshness that characterises great Friulian whites.
Vinification and Ageing
The grapes, sourced from a historic mass selection of Friulano, are harvested at perfect ripeness and undergo a brief maceration at room temperature. They are then gently pressed to preserve their aromatic qualities.
The must is decanted and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This is followed by ageing for approximately 10 months on the fine lees, which gives the wine greater complexity, structure and depth of flavour.
Tasting Notes
Visually, it presents an elegant intense straw yellow enhanced by greenish highlights.
On the nose, it offers a rich and harmonious bouquet, with notes of ripe fruit, citrus and the characteristic hint of almond that distinguishes the Friulano grape variety.
On the palate, it is savoury and structured, underpinned by a pleasant freshness that makes it balanced and dynamic to drink. The long finish and mineral aftertaste complete a flavour profile of great character.
