The Cathedral of San Candido, the Collegiata, located in the charming village of San Candido, è an extraordinary 13th-century Romanesque-style sacred building. It è considered the most precious and mature treasure of the entire eastern Alps. While preserving a of the original Abbey church, the Cathedral has played a central role as the mother church of the Eastern Pusteria since the 19th century. Over the centuries, it has gradually acquired all the functions necessary for a parish dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, which existed since the 12th century in the beautiful location of San Candido.
