The Slow road starts from Montefioralle

It’s called “Slow Road” and, as the English adjective says, it is a slow, peaceful, reflective path. Strictly on foot. Among ancient alleys, vineyards and postcard views. We are in Chianti, after all, and the bucolic landscapes of Tuscany can only convey calm and tranquility. A walk through historic places like the enchanting Greve, the Romanesque Pieve di San Cresci or the village and the medieval castle of Montefioralle. The project, conceived by the Macina di San Cresci, is the result of collaboration between the Municipality of Greve in Chianti, the Tuscany Region, the University of Florence, the contribution of the Banco Fiorentino, the Fornaci del cotto.

The mood of the initiative is: “the emotions of beauty are covered on foot” to rediscover and enhance the artistic and artisan heart of Tuscany, seen from new angles. A path that sees barrel-shaped seats that evoke wine-producing aromas and flavors, relaxation areas, bell-shaped benches that sound with the breath of the wind, cubes silhouetted on the grass, inspired by the geometric shapes of nature.

The author’s benches, born from the creativity of the students of the Faculty of Architecture Design Campus of the University of Florence and from the expert hands of the artisans of terracotta of Greve and Impruneta, will qualify this new 8-kilometer tourist-cultural route that includes the most enchanting viewpoints of the Chianti area.
