Albori

The origin of Albori is traced back to the inhabitants of Marcina who escaped the sacking of the Vandals. From Albori one can walk to the top of Mount Falerio, from which there is a privileged view of the entire Gulf of Salerno. Among the dense forest that frames Albori one can encounter rare plant species including the Pinguicola hirtifolia, a carnivorous plant typical of the area. A long flight of steps connects the village with the sea and leads to Marina d’Albori, a pretty little beach among the rocks. The main asset of this small village is certainly its picturesque location; however, the parish church dedicated to St. Margaret of Antioch located in the heart of Albori is worth a visit. Characteristic are the alleys, many of them surmounted by characteristic vaults.
