The sundial in Piazza Carlo Coletti was built in Naples in 1891, using cast lead on marble, from a design by engineer Gaetano Musilli donated to the City Council. The hours indicated range from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm. Each hour is divided by intervals of five minutes. Local time is indicated by the shadow of the central staff (also known as the ‘stylus’).
