Dating back to 1600, it was built on a pre-existing Byzantine building from the 10th-11th centuries, as evidenced by its typical dome with a stepped roof resting on a square drum.
Not far from the historical centre of San Costantino Albanese, amidst turkey oaks and olive trees, stands the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella, the town’s co-patron saint.
Inside are 17th-century frescoes attributed to Belisario Corinzio and a 17th-century painting of the Madonna della Stella. The Baroque altar dates back to the 17th century.
