The Church of Sant’Antioco, dating from the 15th century, stands at the foot of the “Su Craru” district, overlooking the valley of Gusana and Aratu. This place probably housed the town’s first cemetery, as evidenced by the human skeletons found and duly preserved on either side of the high altar.
On the same right side of the church is the altar dedicated to the Crucifix, from the Church of St. Cross, which once stood where the Town Hall now stands, preserving its name in the small square in front of it. Recently, a relic of the saint from the island of Sant’Antioco was placed at the foot of the altar, inside a shrine.
