The church is connected to the small village of San Pietro via a staircase and is surrounded by the ancient cemetery. An ancient foundation, in 1205 it passed from the jurisdiction of the prevostura Oulx to that of the Hospice of the Moncenisio.
The interior decoration in fresco is the outcome of stratifications which go from the XI to the XVII century. The apostles and Christ in the almond of the apse were repainted between 1348 and 1362 from the so-called Maestro di Tommaso d Achaia, prelate client of the cycle. In the right apse was active at the end of the Fourteenth Century the Alexandrian painter Giacomo Pitterio.
In the right nave preserves a piety, dating back to 1469 and attributed to Antoine de Lonhy, artist tolosano residing in 1462 at Avigliana. The chapel at the head of the left nave, with the Stories of Saint Joseph and Mary Magdalene, is instead to assign to the bottega pinerolese of Serra.
