The official ceremony for the “100 Mete d’Italia” award, an award linked to the editorial project of the Riccardo Dell’Anna Editore which, through ten categories of excellence, wants to enhance the Italian spirit, rewarding originality and commitment.

In fact, there are 7982 Italian municipalities but only one hundred will become part of the volume 100 Mete d’Italia and only ten have obtained the recognition of excellence in their category. Among these some villages certainly could not be missed:
- For the category “Orchid”, ie the award for the care of historic and urban centers è was awarded Monteriggioni (Siena) and also in the same category is the village of Giovinazzo (Bari).
- The “Laurel” è was won by Castiglion Fiorentino (Arezzo), for the enhancement of historical, artistic and cultural heritage. In the same category we also find Bagnoregio (Viterbo – in the picture the mayor Francesco Bigiotti with Vittorio Sgarbi).
- Norcia (Perugia) has been awarded the “Acacia” prize for reconstruction following natural disasters.
- The category “Thyme” has seen Dolceacqua (Imperia) as the winner for the enhancement of the production sector.

The ceremony è was chaired by the vice president of the Senate Maurizio Gasparri. The jury, formed by important names including Vittorio Sgarbi who wanted to emphasize the virtuesù of the municipalities present in the awareness of their potential in terms of beauty and enhancement of historical and artistic heritage.
The municipalities awarded, and those chosen among the top ten in each category, will be the protagonists of the volume “100 Mete d’Italia” Limited Edition, where each reality will haveà a space to describe its peculiaritiesà and present the good practices undertaken. The volume will represent a solid vehicle of promotion available to the territory and being chosen among the hundred municipalities able to tell the best of Italy è certainly something to be proud of.
