Sagra del Bagnun 2026

From 17 to 19 July 2026, Riva Trigoso, a charming seaside hamlet of Sestri Levante, once again celebrates one of the most authentic symbols of Ligurian tradition with the 66th Sagra del Bagnun, a historic event dedicated to the famous fishermen’s dish.

The undisputed star of the event is the Bagnun di acciughe, a recipe that originated right here in Riva Trigoso and is prepared with simple, wholesome ingredients: fresh anchovies, tomatoes, garlic, extra virgin olive oil and traditional sailors’ biscuits. A dish that tells the story of the Ligurian seafaring tradition and the community’s deep connection to the sea.

The most eagerly awaited moment will be Saturday 18 July, when, from 7.30 pm to 11.30 pm, the traditional Bagnun will be served free of charge, prepared with passion by the event’s volunteers, the guardians of a recipe handed down through the generations.

The festival’s packed programme also includes numerous entertainment events. On Friday 17 July, at 9.30 pm, there will be a concert by the “Città di Sestri Levante” Philharmonic Orchestra. On Saturday evening, following the distribution of Bagnun, the spotlight will be on music with the Luca Panama Orchestra, followed at 11.30 pm by the traditional fireworks display over the sea, featuring low-noise effects this year.

The event will conclude on Sunday 19 July with a show by Mago Joe for the little ones, food tastings, an evening concert by Michele and the “Mike ed i Simpatici” Orchestra and plenty of festive activities.

Throughout the event, there will also be the Exhibition of Handicrafts and, on Saturday and Sunday, the traditional Miscellaneous Goods Fair, which will help to liven up the seafront and the town centre.

The Sagra del Bagnun offers a unique opportunity to discover the maritime traditions of Liguria, savour one of the most iconic dishes of the local cuisine and experience the authentic atmosphere of Riva Trigoso, where history, the sea and gastronomy have come together for over sixty years.
