Rocca Imperiale Spring Festival 2026

The Rocca Imperiale Spring Festival 2026 will take place on 1 and 2 May in the picturesque village of Rocca Imperiale, offering two days packed with events celebrating the flavours, traditions and agricultural excellence of the local area.

Organised by the Compagnia del Limone, the event celebrates one of the area’s symbols, the Rocca Imperiale lemon, which takes centre stage in a varied programme combining culture, gastronomy and entertainment.

The festival opens on Friday 1 May with a welcome reception in the village, followed by a guided tour of the Castello Svevo in Rocca Imperiale and a walking conference through the historic centre. After the gala lunch, the evening continues with cultural events, street food in the square and music from the 70s to the 90s, creating a convivial and festive atmosphere.

Saturday 2 May is dedicated to exploring agricultural traditions: visits to local farms, limoncello workshops and in-depth sessions on lemon production. The programme also includes a visit to the Diocesan Sanctuary of Santa Maria della Nova and lunch in the historic centre.

The grand finale in the evening features the original and symbolic “Wedding of Lady Strawberry of Metapontino and Lord Lemon”, followed by a dinner in the square with local specialities, fried fish and a brass band concert.

The Spring Festival is a unique opportunity to experience Rocca Imperiale amidst its scents, traditions and conviviality, discovering a region rich in authenticity between Calabria and Basilicata.
