Lesca Maritata Festival
Event description
On 18 July 2026, Civitella Alfedena, in the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, will host the traditional Lesca Maritata Festival, one of the most distinctive culinary events of the Abruzzo summer. It is an opportunity to rediscover the authentic flavours of local cuisine and enjoy a festive evening amidst the village’s stunning mountain scenery.
The star of the event is the Lesca Maritata, an ancient peasant speciality prepared with bread, cheese and simple ingredients that reflect the region’s culinary culture. A recipe handed down through the generations, it is a symbol of peasant cuisine, capable of transforming a few ingredients into a dish rich in flavour and identity.
The event takes place in Piazza Plebiscito from 7.30 pm, where visitors can sample Lesca Maritata and other local specialities in a convivial atmosphere. The evening will be accompanied by live music from the band Nerek, who will liven up the square with dancing, fun and tradition.
The Lesca Maritata Festival is the perfect opportunity to visit Civitella Alfedena, stroll through its characteristic cobbled streets and discover one of the most picturesque villages in the National Park, combining nature, culture and authentic flavours.
