Sagra della Busiata
Event description
From 4 to 7 August 2026, the historic centre of Salemi, in the province of Trapani, will once again host the Sagra della Busiata, one of the most eagerly awaited culinary events of the Sicilian summer, dedicated to one of the symbols of the region’s culinary tradition.
For four evenings, the village is transformed into a grand culinary journey where the undisputed star is busiata, the typical fresh pasta from Trapani, handmade using the traditional iron tool known as a ‘buso’. A culinary gem of Sicilian cuisine, it will be served in numerous variations, ranging from traditional sauces to more creative interpretations, showcasing the authentic flavours of the region.
Strolling through the charming alleyways of the historic centre, visitors will be able to sample the specialities prepared at the food stalls, accompanied by local wines and the finest food and wine from the province of Trapani, enjoying an experience that combines taste, culture and conviviality.
The evenings will be enlivened by concerts, live music and performances, which will make the atmosphere of the event even more captivating, transforming Salemi into a lively summer stage.
The Sagra della Busiata is the perfect opportunity to visit one of the most charming villages in western Sicily, discover its history and be captivated by the aromas, flavours and hospitality of a tradition that has been celebrating one of the most iconic dishes of Sicilian cuisine for over twenty years.
