Description

Valpolicella DOC Classico is the wine that best embodies the true spirit of Valpolicella. Fresh, elegant and extraordinarily versatile, it is made from the historic Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grape varieties grown in the vineyards of the classic area, amongst the limestone hills north of Verona.

It is a red wine that prioritises finesse, balance and drinkability, whilst maintaining a strong sense of place. An accessible wine, yet far from simple, capable of expressing harmony and complexity even in its youth.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness and undergo:

  • Destemming and soft pressing
  • Temperature-controlled fermentation (26–28°C)
  • Maceration on the skins for approximately 7–10 days in stainless steel
  • Malolactic fermentation completed in autumn

This process preserves the varietal freshness and aromatic elegance typical of Valpolicella Classico.

Ageing

  • Maturation: 3–6 months in stainless steel
  • Ageing: at least 3 months in bottle
  • Ageing potential: 3–4 years

Tasting Notes

Visually, it presents a luminous bright ruby red, enhanced by lively, sparkling highlights.

On the nose, it offers an elegant and harmonious bouquet, characterised by aromas of cherry, raspberry, redcurrant and red flowers, enriched by delicate spicy nuances reminiscent of cinnamon and light notes of coffee.

On the palate, it stands out for its freshness and balanced structure, supported by fine, vibrant tannins. The well-integrated acidity and moderate alcohol content contribute to a light, pleasant and highly drinkable wine.
