Church of St John the Baptist at Pereta

The Church of St John the Baptist at Pereta is a construction of Romanesque origin that preserves in the facade a good part of the original hanging. The interior has a single nave with three altars in the seventeenth century in plaster and stucco decorations according to elegant baroque canons; the side altars are accompanied by two seventeenth-century paintings of the sienese school; particularly significant is that for the left-hand side, attributable to Astolfo Petrazzi, with the Madonna and Child that presents the Rosary in San Domenico and Santa Caterina da Siena; in the edges the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary.

In the altar in front of the painting of the Madonna with Child and Saints, referable to a Sienese artist stylistically descending from Alessandro Casolani and Vincenzo Rustici.
