The museum focuses on four of the five floors of the tower of the Rocca Roveresca while the upper floor (fifth) hosts an armoury with pieces of artillery, armour and weapons, among which some rarities. The museum proposes life scenes reconstructed renaissance with abundance of care through dummies in plaster dressed up with costumes of the era. The important scenes are: the banquet, the hall of torture, the oven, the Barn with horses.
On the fourth floor there is the magnificent dining room with wax statues represents the feast in honor of the marriage between Giovanni Della Rovere owner of the Fortress of Mondavio and Giovanna daughter of Lord of the palace of Urbino. In this representation is to note the way in which they are dressed participants: the people belonging to the same lineage are dressed with clothing of the same color.
In 1400 women held hair gathered to follow the fashion of the time, wore long dresses and sumptuous: more the woman was noble more was large and decorated its skirt. Men wore tight-fitting trousers, jackets in velvet and shirts that showed prominent lace in the neck and in the sleeves. To distinguish the nobles from the common people there was a simple particular: the rich wore trousers in solid while the poor wore with trousers of two colors. The fifth and last floor there is the armoury and the station of defense.
For the defense the architect Francesco di Giorgio Martini had built inside the fifth floor an expanse of merlons that encircled the plan. In the case where the enemies were joints until the fourth floor the soldiers used an overflow: with a hole in the floor that linked the fifth floor with stairs of the lower scagliavano arrows to enemies. Another method to repel enemies was to discard the hole pitch boiling. In this plan we also find the armoury which is composed entirely of the weapons and armor of 1400.
