Lac del Vedes is certainly one of the most beautiful and best preserved peat bogs in Trentino. It is an ancient lake of glacial origin where, due to a natural process, thick layers of peat produced by aquatic plants over the millennia have accumulated. The vegetation of the peat bog consists of carpets of very special mosses and small, very rare marsh plants.
