Pianetto, a charming hamlet located in Galeata, is a jewel of history and architecture not to be missed. Presumably founded in medieval times along the road that led to the castle, this hamlet features buildings dating mostly from the 17th and 18th centuries.
As you walk along the main street, you can admire several points of interest, such as the picturesque washhouse at the entrance to the village, the old Versari palace with its family crest, and the charming little square in front of the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, built in 1884 in the shape of a semicircle. The small square is embellished by a central gushing fountain, creating an enchanting atmosphere. From here, you can take a double climb that leads to the path leading to the medieval castle.
The hamlet is also home to the cloister of the Convent of the Minor Fathers, a very atmospheric place, and the Mambrini Civic Museum, which houses valuable historical artifacts. The Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli completes the village’s cultural offerings, with its architecture blending perfectly with the surrounding atmosphere.
