The Church of St. George, located not far from Piazza Sant’Antonio in Castelmola, is dedicated to the patron saint of the town. The building stands out for its simple architectural lines and characteristic bell tower, made unique by the presence of four pyramidal pinnacles at the corners.
Inside the church are several 17th-century paintings, various wooden statues dating back to the 18th century and a wooden organ from the same period, which is still in perfect working order today. Descending into the crypt, you can also access the church’s evocative and dark catacombs.
