The fountain is provided with seven sources that are poured in a tank 9 meters long and wide about two. It was built in the era of pre-Arab when Alcara was still called Turiano as demonstrated by the inscriptions on it, in fact the rear wall stands for several meters and on it you notice three Latin inscriptions.
The fountain in the earthquake of 10 June 1490 suffered significant damage and the rear wall was destroyed almost completely, but was immediately rebuilt. In 1841, following a landslide due to infiltrations, came the collapse of the whole fountain, but was immediately rebuilt and the tombstones with the ancient inscriptions as well as the Eagle were relocated to their place.
Next to the fountain there is a tray with other two jets of water and nearby stands a large washroom with wide canopy comprising 24 trays with as many water jets, where women washed clothes.
