Nestled on the southwestern coast of Elba Island, Campo nell'Elba is a municipality of varied charm, where the seaside mundanity of Marina di Campo and the timeless quiet of the hillside villages of San Piero and Sant'Ilario coexist. The territory, which stretches from the Gulf of Lacona to Pomonte, also includes extraordinary places such as the Costa del Sole and the island of Pianosa, offering landscapes and atmospheres that satisfy every type of traveler.
Marina di Campo, the beating heart of the municipality, is one of Elba's best-known tourist resorts. Once a simple fishing village, it has become the queen of the Elban summer thanks to its beach-the largest on the island- clear waters, dense pine forest, and a lively and well-equipped center. On the western tip of the bay stands the Pisan Tower, now owned by the Navy, a symbol of the village and witness to its defensive origins in the 16th century.
In the innermost areas, ascending toward Monte Capanne, one encounters San Piero and Sant'Ilario, two fortified villages of silent beauty, perched on granite heights and surrounded by paths and millennia-old quarries. Here time seems to stand still, and even in the summer months a rarefied calm reigns. From these heights start the Vie del Granito (Granite Routes), ideal for hiking or biking among spectacular views, historic quarries and fragrant forests.
The Costa del Sole, which can be traveled on an evocative scenic route, encompasses some of the island's most iconic beaches, including Cavoli, frequented by young people and sun worshippers, Seccheto, more intimate and relaxed, and the splendid Fetovaia, famous for its turquoise waters and the pine forest that frames the golden sandy shore.
To complete the uniqueness of the area, just a few kilometers from the center is La Pila airport, the island's only airport, conveniently connecting Campo nell'Elba to the rest of Italy and Europe.
Con la sua perfetta combinazione di mare, natura, cultura e storia, Campo nell’Elba rappresenta una delle mete più affascinanti dell’Arcipelago Toscano. Un luogo dove la vacanza assume forme diverse, sempre autentiche.
